2025 Char Dham Yatra: Gangotri and Yamunotri Dham doors opened

The famous 2025 Char Dham Yatra of Uttarakhand has started. Today, the doors of Gangotri Dham on the occasion of Akshaya Tritiya, were opened for the devotees under Gangotri Dham Yatra Kapat Utsav. On this occasion, the first puja was done in the temple in the name of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, while Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami visited the Dham and took blessings of Maa Ganga.

Gangotri Dham resounded with the chants of "Har Har Gange"

The doors were opened at 10:30 am in Abhijit Muhurta. During this, the entire Gangotri Dham resounded with the chants of "Har-Har Gange". As soon as the doors of Gangotri and Yamunotri Dham opened in the presence of thousands of devotees from the country and abroad, the much-awaited 2025 Char Dham Yatra of Uttarakhand was formally launched.

Gangotri Dham will remain open for 6 months

Now devotees will be able to visit Maa Ganga for the next 6 months. This time the temple premises were decorated with about 15 quintals of flowers. Devotees visited the idol of Maa Ganga in the temple and earned virtue.

Doli of Maa Ganga left from Mukhaba village

The idol which is installed in Gangotri Dham is brought in a special doli from Mukhaba village. This year also, the doli of Maa Ganga left on Tuesday at 11:57 am, which reached Gangotri Dham on Wednesday morning after resting in Bhairo Valley at night. The doors of the Gangotri Dham temple were opened with rituals at 10:30 am.

Dolis of Yamunotri Dham also opened

The doli of Yamunotri Dham also left from Kharsali village on the day of Akshaya Tritiya. After reaching the Dham, the doors of the temple were opened at 11:55 am, so that devotees could visit Maa Yamuna.

Yamunotri Dham doors opened: After special prayers, Maa Yamuna ki Doli (palanquin) left for Yamunotri Dham from her winter residence Kharsali village amid chants of “Jai Maa Yamuna” along with hundreds of local and devotees from across the country for her six-month summer pilgrimage. Earlier in the morning, Yamuna ji's palanquin reached Someshwar Maharaj temple premises. From there, her maternal family members as well as her brother Someshwar Maharaj's palanquin left for Yamunotri Dham for farewell.

Along with the opening of the doors of Gangotri Dham, the doors of Yamunotri Dham of Maa Yamuna have also been opened on Wednesday 30th April on Akshaya Tritiya today. Special worship was performed on this occasion. Mother Yamuna's palanquin, with the chants of "Jai Maa Yamuna", left for Yamunotri Dham on a six-month summer journey from her winter residence Kharsali village.

At 8:30 am, Mother Yamuna's palanquin set out on the journey from Kharsali village with her brother Shani Maharaj. After a walk of about 5 kilometers, the palanquin reached Yamunotri Dham. Then at 11:57 am, the doors of the temple were opened in the auspicious muhurta. Now devotees will be able to visit Yamunotri Dham for the next 6 months. With the opening of the doors of Gangotri and Yamunotri Dhams, the world famous Chardham Yatra of Uttarakhand has begun.

Traffic plan for Char Dham Yatra 2025

For the successful conduct of Char Dham Yatra, the administration has prepared a traffic plan at three levels:

The Yatra route has been divided into 15 super zones, 41 zones, and 217 sectors.

A total of 624 CCTV cameras have been activated.

9 ASP and DSP rank officers have been appointed on the Yatra route.

For the first time, 10 companies of paramilitary forces have been demanded from the central government.

Traffic arrangement based on Plan A, B, and C

A three-level traffic plan has been made to handle the crowd during the Yatra:

Plan A: Traffic will run smoothly in normal conditions.

Plan B: When the crowd is a little more, alternative routes will be used.

Plan C: When the crowd is very high, there will be special control on some routes.

The 2025 Char Dham Yatra started in a very auspicious atmosphere. Gangotri Dham Yatra Kapat Utsav filled thousands of devotees with spiritual energy. For the next 6 months, devotees will attain virtue by visiting Maa Ganga here. Once again an atmosphere of faith, devotion and reverence has been created in Uttarakhand.
