Gangotri Dham Yatra Kapatotsav 2025:  With the opening of the doors of Gangotri Dham, the Char Dham Yatra of Uttarakhand 2025 begins

Gangotri Dham Yatra Kapatotsav 2025: The preparations for Kapatotsav (Gangotri Dham Kapatotsav 2025) have been completed in Gangotri Dham, one of the sacred four Dhams of Uttarakhand. On Tuesday, the holy Doli of Mother Ganga left for Gangotri Dham from her winter residence Mukhaba village with proper worship and melodious tunes of the army band.

The entire atmosphere was devotional and joyous at the time of departure of the Doli. In the presence of thousands of devotees, local residents and pilgrimage priests, Mother Ganga was bid farewell with moist eyes like a daughter. Today, on 30 April 2025, on the auspicious occasion of Akshaya Tritiya, at 10:30 am, the doors of Gangotri Dham was opened for devotees for six months.

Maa Ganga's Doli Yatra

On Tuesday at exactly 11:57 am, in Abhijit Muhurta, Maa Ganga's Vigraha Doli left for Gangotri Dham with traditional rituals. During this, the entire Mukhaba village echoed with the sound of Dhol-Damaun, army bands, and cheers. The palanquin of Sameshwar Devta also reached Gangotri Dham along with Mother Ganga.

Before sending off the Doli, traditional bhog of Kalyo and Phafare was offered. The Doli Yatra covered a distance of about 25 kilometres on foot and rested at Bhairon Ghat on Tuesday night. Special puja and cultural programs were organized there.

Preparations complete in Gangotri Dham

The entire Gangotri Dham has been decorated on the occasion of Gangotri Dham Kapatotsav 2025. The markets have been decorated with lights and flowers. 

On Today morning, Maa Ganga's Doli left from Bhaironghati and reached Gangotri Dham. There, the process of opening the doors was completed with Vedic chanting and religious traditions. Devotees took darshan of Maa Ganga from 10:30 am onwards.

With the opening of the doors of Gangotri and Yamunotri Dham, the famous Char Dham Yatra 2025 of Uttarakhand has also start in 2025. This journey fills millions of devotees with spiritual energy every year.
